     On April 22nd Melrose was asked to burn over 75 acres of land. With the help of a few departments, is went off with out a hitch. Thank you to all the participated.

     On Feb. 25th Melrose and about 6 other local fire dept. performed live fire training on a donated house. Melrose Fire has about 2 or 3 houses a year donated to them and perform a lot of training when we do. We hold F.A.S.T. training as well as search training with a smoke machine. When the time comes we like invite surrounding companies to join and hold live fire training.  This house on River Rd was no exception. With those surrounding companies we are able to safely burn this once camp house to a vacant lot on which an up to date house can be built. We got a number of burns out of this house before letting it "go". Thank you to all the help from our surrounding dept. 

On Oct. 8th 2006 Melrose and multiple other dept. were dispatched to this fire before Melrose transmitted a second alarm. An aggressive interior attack is the reason the structure is still standing and the home owner was able to gain a lot of personal possessions.
